Bio/Introduction
Lisa Boesky, Ph.D., is a child psychologist, national speaker and author of the new book When to Worry: How to Tell if Your Teen Needs Help--and What to Do About It. Dr. Lisa has worked with a wide range of adolescents—from mildly stressed teens to some of the most dangerous, destructive, and troubled youth in psychiatric hospitals and juvenile jails and prisons. She specializes in the identification, management, and treatment of teenagers with emotional and behavioral conditions, including those who are Suicidal or who Self-Injure. Thousands of parents, as well as education, healthcare, substance abuse, mental health, child welfare and juvenile justice professionals participate in her high-energy and engaging programs each year. She helped develop a mental health screening tool for adolescents and consults on mental health policy and programming to a variety of youth agencies. Dr. Lisa is regularly interviewed for print, television, and radio on hot topics related to troubled teens.
